Gauta is the Sesotho word for gold - the root of Gauteng itself. GAUCITY is named not after a province, but after gold: after the migrant workers who descended into the earth, after the labour that built a city and a nation.

Positioned on the historic Modderfontein node - where dynamite once blasted gold from beneath this earth - GAUCITY is Gauteng's gift to its own future: an AI-native, climate-smart, inclusive urban precinct designed around the people and heritage of the Golden Province.
